Questions about FLAC to MP3
- Does converting FLAC to MP3 improve the sound?
- Not for the better. FLAC is lossless and MP3 is lossy, so MP3 throws detail away to shrink the file — pick a higher bitrate if quality matters.
- Which bitrate should I choose?
- For speech, podcasts and audiobooks 96–128 kbps is enough. For music, 192–256 kbps is the usual sweet spot; below that, cymbals and reverb start to smear.
- Is there a file size limit?
- No limit that we impose. The only ceiling is your device's memory, so a very large photo or a long recording may take a few seconds.
- Are my files uploaded anywhere?
- No. The conversion runs inside this browser tab, so the file never leaves your device — go offline once the page has loaded and keep converting.
